Things the browser decides
Section titled “Things the browser decides”- Autoplay with sound is blocked until the user interacts with the page; the player falls back to muted. In iOS Low Power Mode even muted autoplay may be blocked.
- Background tabs: some browsers pause media when the tab is hidden. The player notices and doesn’t open the call-to-action modal.
- Fullscreen on iPhone: Apple only lets the video itself go fullscreen, so the native iOS player (with Apple’s controls) is used. On iPad and desktop the whole player goes fullscreen with its own controls.
- Volume on iPhone/iPad: controlled by the hardware buttons only.
- Chromecast: Chrome only. AirPlay is not built in.
